Bára Kristinsdóttir lærði ljósmyndun í Gautaborg. Hún haldið nokkrar einkasýningar og tekið þátt í fjölda samsýninga bæði á Íslandi og erlendis. Má hér nefna einkasýningarnar Heitir reitir í Ljósmyndasafni Reykjavíkur og Umhverfi bróður míns sem sýnd var í Gallerí Anima og tekið þátt í samsýningum í Scandinavia House í New York og Frankfurt Kunstverein.

Bára hefur eining unnið sem auglýsinga- og fréttaljósmyndari í gegn um tíðina og myndar meðal annars reglulega fyrir New York Times.

Hún er stofnfélagi Félags Íslenskra samtímaljósmyndara, FÍSL.

Bára stofnaði og hefur rekið Ramskram, sem er sýningarrými fyrir samtímaljósmyndun, síðustu tvö árin.
